MoveOnBoot

MoveOnBoot is a free download that allows you to rename, copy or delete a file the next time you reboot your machine. Useful for getting rid of files that are put in use when your computer starts up or removing viruses that can't be deleted normally.

How to use it:


  1. When run, MoveOnBoot asks you to specify a file, select the file and click next
  2. In the next window you get a choice to Copy, Move(rename) or Delete the file. Choose the option you wish and click next
  3. Specify the file if you selected the delete option. Or specify the file and folder if you selected the to copy or move option.
  4. Click Next and MoveOnBoot confirms what you want it to do. After this click Start and you are done.

The Start option it simply schedules the action to occur the next time you reboot. Upon a successful reboot the file specified will be renamed, deleted or copied before any other program has an opportunity to place it "in use".
